Cecilia Ibru: Court Gives CBN 72 Hours to Declare Whereabouts of N191bn Seized Assets

Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court, Lagos, has directed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to make open within 72 hours, the whereabouts of the N191bn worth of assets seized from the convicted erstwhile Managing Director of Oceanic Bank Plc, Mrs. Cecilia Ibru. In the suit which was instituted by the President of Progressive Shareholders Association, Mr. Boniface Okezie, as he sought to compel the CBN to release the information under the Freedom of Information Act, Justice Idris also ordered CBN to declare the total cash and value of properties recovered from Cecilia Ibru.
